This is Ziggy, he has two orange LEDs for eyes, that flash on and off alternately. The Pic is mounted on the top, and I am using transistor H-bridges underneath for motor drivers. The motors themselves came out of old video cameras (they operated the zoom lens) and
the wheels came off an old toy truck. The two microswitches are bridged with an old guitar string to create a “bumper” depending on which switch activates first determines which way he will turn. He is programmed to turn approximately 90 degrees when he bumps into an object. He runs off a 9v battery mounted between the two round plates. The Pic circuit board has a 5v regulator on it to supply the power to the Pic, but the motors get their power directly from the battery. The main body is 4” in diameter.
